Yes. Dogs are welcome in Carlsten’s outdoor environments, but please remember to keep your dog on a leash. Also be aware that during events where guns and muskets are fired, there are loud bangs that many dogs do not like. We visit the banquet hall / restaurant so please ask on each individual occasion. Soldat Hotel has rooms where dogs are allowed.
Answer: No, of course you can have a coffee at Carlstens Våffelcafé without paying an entrance fee to the fortress. The café is open during the regular opening hours of the fortress.
No. Marstrandsön is a car-free island and the ferry from Koön – Marstrandsön is a passenger ferry. However, there are plenty of parking spaces on the island. Read more about this in our Directions section.
