Bohusl\u00e4n Evening<\/h1>\n

Fishing, and especially herring fishing, has been of great importance to Marstrand. During the great herring fishing periods that came about every hundred years, the town flourished. In 1904, the Nordic Fisheries Exhibition was held at Carlsten Fortress. The exhibition was to revolutionize fishing in Marstrand and throughout the Nordic region thanks to the technical innovations presented here.
